A baby mirror that you can put on his playmat. They have big ones at target for about 15-20. My son absolutely loved it at this age, staring at himself. I think he could have stared at himself for hours if I let him. It also teaches the child to move their head to different sides. We had trouble getting ours to look to the left and the mirror helped out wonderfully. It is so cute to see their reactions with the mirror, too. We also got him this little toy radio that plays songs, makes animal noises, says the alphabet, and sings numbers. It is now his fav. toy at 5 months because over time he has learned how to work it himself and he loves the music. I think anything that lights up and makes noise is agreat idea.
Also, someone suggested a baby whoozit to me. I had to look it up and ended up buying one for my son. It looks very simple, but for some reason kids just love it. It is very colorful, has hidden compartments, and makes noises.

Oh my! At two months, babies are in a visual mode. They enjoy looking at colours, and contrasting black and white visuals. Check out this page for a lot of great toys!
Click on the catalog and look for these toys:

My kids all loved the Baby Einstein DVDs that are for very young babies such as Baby Mozart and Baby Beethoven. Most babies love the music and the visual stimulation. He really likes the Sophie the Giraffe but is more for teething but sometimes that process can start at 3 or 4 months. If you live in the US, check out. We can’t order from there here in Canada but they have great European toys that are unique and, in my opinion, safer than many of the other toys out there particularly in light of all of the recent recalls.
Some babies love looking into mirrors as well. You can find baby-proof mirrors at Babies R’ Us and places like that.
The other toy that all of my kids loved as babies is the Lamaze dog with crinkly ears, legs that each make a different sound and has a nice light vanilla scent. My kids love it..sometimes I will put it on my babies lap while they are in the swing and they just stare and coo at it. These are also available at Babies R’ Us. Good luck!

You.
They will stare at your face and your hands…and you sing and rock and then will still think anything you do it cool. Just because they aren’t wildly giggling yet doesn’t mean they aren’t enjoying what they are watching.

Read your baby a book and use sounds and make faces they love seeing you and siblings interacting. They don’t sell anything better than a mommy!

knives and cutting instruments of any kind kids just love em!!
seriously there are literally tons of toys in this category. but things with basic bright colors, sounds are all good for developing motor skills and developing muscles

All Babies are different, and want to explore and discover. Try any toys with Black and White patterns (also red).
Don’t be surprised if he gets tired of these quickly! He might not be bored, but overstimulated. Let him have a break, he’ll let you know if he wants you to play with you.

Mirrors are a great way to introduce the concept of individuality, since at this age, baby still sees himself as an extension of Mommy.
The best toy though is you. Hold him upright on your lap and play with him by talking, cooing, smiling, whistling, singing, silly faces, anything you can think of. It’ll not only entertain him, but it’ll help you bond, but also help him learn to talk sooner. At this age, infants are very easily amused, so if you can’t spend all the time with him, then a simple plastic toy chain or a brightly colored swatch of cloth will give him plenty to do.
