When my son was 1 year old, I was visiting my sister who has 3 kids. She lives only miles away and we spend a lot of time with the kids together. My nephew has a Buzz Lighyear that talks. My son was really frightened of it for about 6 months before he got the courage up to play with it. Every time we went over there, I had to call my sister ahead of time to make sure Buzz was put away so he could relax and enjoy his cousins.
My nephew is scared of cotton stuffed toys. I don’t know why. He loves his plastic Blue (Blues Clues) but when I brought him a big stuffed Blue he cried like someone was beating him. Even with bears is the same way. He RUNS!
YES! My daughter was scared of the toy vacuum cleaner when she got it for her 2nd birthday. When you turn it on, it makes a sound very similar to a real vacuum. She is 4 now and is ok with it. My 22 month old son loves the toy.
I know what you mean. I got this little stuffed cat that was cream colored w/brown ears, mouth and tail. 1 year later and my son is still afraid of that cat. He did the same thing your daughter did- started howling the minute he saw it. He refuses to even look at it.
I don’t know why- maybe that’s how they tell us they **** something. My son thinks that stuffed cat is ugly and your daughter hates that song on her new toy.
lol, man does that bring back some memories! When my son turned 2 i got him this soccer game. It was a mini goal, that had hands and feet, and when you would kick the ball in, the feet would stomp and it would cheer and yell…my son was sooo excited because he loves soccer, but when he kicked the ball in and realized what it did, he jumped and stumbled backwards screaming and wound up falling backwards onto his ****. Everyone laughed so hard..poor kid…he never played with it after that…I think its because they dont know the difference between real and a toy…if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, to them its a duck…so if you came across a house that sang, wouldnt it kinda creep you out?
My mom had bought my son this ninja action. He could spin things in his hand and walk. My son was okay with it until the walking part. He freaked out and made my mom put it back in the box. That was two years ago and it is still sitting in the box on the top shelf of the closet. If we attwmpt to pull is out he freaks.
We have horses so naturally my daughter has alot of horse toys. Stuffed horses and such. My friends son was so terrified of the horse toys that i had to hide them all when he was coming over. He would just scream like he was being tortured if he seen any horse toys. It was so wierd. He was also scared of my daughters pink baby doll.

Yes, my first born was freaked out by Tickle Me Elmo…she just didn’t like the shaking and giggling.
I think she just found it very strange for a toy to be moving and making independent noise.
Your daughter may be the same.
