This sounds crass and silly…but I think baby toys are a waste of money.
The only “toy” I would give a 3 month old is something safe to chew on…like a teething ring that is very well made.
As for rattles and what not, save your money and give her a set of safe keys with nothing loose or dangerous. Large plastic spoons or spatulas entertain my daughter just fine.
At 3 months, they dont concentrate long on anything.
Those baby rings work great….I have a long string of them that entertains her for entire car trips. Baby safe mirrors do entertain them..but are hard to buy JUST the mirror…they always seem to come on some other toy thing.

At three months, she is probably just starting to realize that her hands are for holding things (and she has probably been inspecting them for a couple weeks now…opening and closing them, chewing on them, etc). Does she have a play mat, one that you can dangle toys from? She may be interested in grabbing at things, or at least trying to. Also, brightly-colored rattles and toys that have different textures will provoke her interest. You can start teaching her that things feel different to the touch…just put them in her hand and watch her reaction. My daughter has always also gotten a kick out of musical toys…different sounds and music really seem to engage her. Good luck!

My daughter is almost 3 months and she loves her doll from Lamaze. It has different textures, sounds, etc. We spend quite a while each day playing “dolly” where I hold it up and she grabs and bats at it. She absolutely loves it. She also likes rattles and the mirror that I put on the back of the seat in the car so she can see herself when we are driving.
