You know the toys you get at the dollar store, you stick them in water and they grow? I’m doing a science fair project on them and I need a website, or something that gives me the science of their chemical makeup and how they work. Thank you!

they’re proabbly extremely porous and when you put them in water the pores absorb water and thus it expands

They are sponges. Do a search on sponges man made and natural. You should plenty of info for your project.
